About Gul

Gul Aftab at Work

Welcome to my blog!!

My name is Gul Aftab Ahmed and I am a PhD student in the School of Computer Science at the University of Manchester. I am working in Center for Novel Computing a research group of SSG with Dr Len Freeman. I am interested in high performance computing (HPC) , performance optimization  and parallel programming models. Currently, I am investigating a parallel programming model which  is aimed to reduce  programmers  effort to write scientific applications on modern hardware.
I have a Master’s degree in High Performance Computing from the University of Manchester and Master in Software Engineering (MSE) from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan.

This blog contains material more or less for my own reference. However, I’ll be more than happy if this stuff is of any help to my visitors.

    Hello Sir,
I hope you are fine and in good health. I am Muzamil and I was your student at Comsats. You taught us a course on the Basics of Computing in 2007. I am currently working on my Masters in Mathematics from University of Regina, Canada. Just a random search on Internet brought me here and I feel really glad to hear from you.
I hope that your research is going pretty good. Best of Luck for your doctorate.
